How to stop the next Video Games Moral Panic

These are ideas I thought up to end the next video games moral panic that comes up after a shooting spree or school shooting that has "connections" to video games. I thought these up during the Sandy Hook Moral Panic and think this is a great time to bring these up again and I think someone needs to get at least one of these into the Obama Admin. ASAP. I won't do it. I cannot get signatures no matter how hard I try. But someone else in the Gaming Industry should really consider this, because it will limit the possibility of legislation of video games in the future to a very slim chance.

During the last few video game related moral panics (Columbine, Sandy Hook, etc), hoaxes were spread that seemed to show that school shooters were influenced by video games. Hoaxes such as the "Doom Will Become Reality" Hoax after columbine.  These Hoaxes contributed to legislation and were used to attempt sway the supreme court in  Brown vs EMA by the Eagle Form Watchdog  group.  Media then went out and attacked violent games, often times using lies to attack them. Lies such as "Video Games make people violent!" are often cited by people in the media. Both of these contribute to the moral panic and make it spiral out of control. Moral panics can be Proven to cause anti-video games legislation and studies. The industry MUST take steps to prevent the the spread of such lies and hoaxes and the government AND media must be punished for spreading them.

A) Government Limitations

-Government cannot use the Obscenity Clause to judge Violence!
(Obscenity clause has a part that says if the game lacks serious literary, scientific, and educational values, it gets fined. No one in a panel deciding this will say it has these values if they get offended by the violent content!)
-Government forbidden from drafting any bill that by accident or purposely causes the lack of sales of violent games to adults.
(No More laws like the CA bill that started Brown VS EMA. No more crap like this)
-Government forbidden from taxing the "Use", "Storage", or "Consumption" of Violent Games.
(No More making everyone who plays a violent game have to pay a ridiculous tax)
-Government forbidden from Taxing Violent games by a percentage higher than 20%
-Government Video Game Studies are Illegalized

-Government officials should be jailed for making up lies about violent games.
-Government forbidden with tampering with the ESRB and cannot make a new rating system IF it gets abused to rate all games so they cannot be sold in stores at all.

Examples of Lies: (proof it's a lie)
"Studies prove Violent games cause real life violence!"
(No study has ever been done that proves this, EVER! Many prove "Aggression" though)
"Violent games are used to break down the inhibition to kill in the military!"
(A person in the military debunked this. Go here for a debunking. Too long to post here)
"Violent games are training tools!"
(Most violent games are not. Only 1 series "America's Army" is)
"Violent games allow you to rape a woman!"
(Not a single violent game since Custers revenge has this feature. That was released in 1989!)
"Violent Games are marketed to kids"
(The Average age of a gamer is 34 according to a ESRB study)
"Violent Games make kids turn into Child Molesters!"
(Brought up by two different people after sandy hook with NO proof!)
"Violent Game Fans are Terrorists!"
(Posted on a site online attacking a marathon bombing game, no proof whatsoever that this is true)

Example of Hoaxes used to attack games after School Shootings
"Eric Harris said Doom Will Become Reality"
(A fake Harris Site popped up on April 21 1999 that said this. FBI Proved this was a hoax site)
"A Hate Site Tracking Group found a modified version of doom on Harris's Website that allowed him to train for the massacre"
(The version of doom that was modified in the article had features doom could not do in 1999 "Infinite Weapons/New Weapons/A second Shooter with New AI/Running out of ammo killed both the second shooter and the player", therefore the modified version of doom is a hoax)
"Adam Lanza's PC, contained a "gamer Scoresheet" with specifics on 500 murders"
(His PC's HDD was Destroyed WITH A HAMMER, how could they even find the fake spreadsheet?)

-Amicus Briefs that use the above lies to sway a supreme court case about a violent game related legislation must be fact checked by a panel of game industry members who know these are lies, and the person who drafted the amicus brief gets heavily fined and barred from future amicus briefs. (Eagle Forum already tried this tactic with some of the above hoaxes during Brown vs EMA)

B) Media Limitations

This covers Media groups (Tv Stations, Newspapers, Websites of those two, ) and Watchdog Groups (PTC, Eagle Forum, National Institute of the Media and the Family, Common Sense Media, etc.) and Police (Police Stations (They often attack games))

-Any newspaper caught writing an article that makes up facts to "prove" a game caused a school shooting and it can be proven by an industry panel, license revoked, fined 2 million dollars, writer thrown in jail for 10 years.
-Any newspaper trying to stretch the truth on violent games, fined 2 million dollars, thrown in jail for 2 years
-Any Newstation making up nonsense about violent games and it can be proven by the above panel,
the tv station shut down, they get fined million dollars, and they get tried for inciting the populace in a dangerous way, and license revoked of anyone involved.

Media now has to be 100% FACTUAL when talking about  violent games

-Any Watchdog group that submits an Amicus Brief that contains the above lies and/or hoaxes, gets jailed for 20 years, their property taken by the government and their website shut down forever)
-Any Watchdog group that makes up nonsense about video games on their site, or elsewhere, gets fined 500,000 dollars, their website shut down for 6 years, and gets jailed for 2 years.
-Anyone who goes on talk shows mentioning the above lies and/or hoaxes gets jailed for 10 years, and the talk show gets fined 500,000 dollars.

C) Frivolous lawsuit protection..

- A panel of video game industry members will filter through any lawsuits filed against a gaming company, and if the plaintiff and/or lawyers use above lies to sway the jury, the plaintiff fined 2 million dollars, the lawyer disbarred, etc.

D) Lawsuits
The Gaming industry is now recommended to sue anyone in the media making up anything about a game, anyone in the government, and anyone legislating video game violence in a way that will make video game not sell able to stores to adults.

E) Stopping the spread of the above lies

- Any forum that is found by the panel of the industry that has above lies being spread, the people get fined 2000 dollars and put in jail for 2 years.
- Anyone who calls video games trash, fined 50 dollars
- Anyone who threatens gamers, or insults gamers online, fined 12000 dollars, and thrown in jail for 5 years.
- Anyone doing the above should have their IP addresses made public to help this
- Anyone caught building a website that contains a new video game violence related hoax that proves a school shooter committed the shooting due to the violent game's influence, gets jailed for 5 years and find 2500 dollars.

Ok... This is my plan. I want someone to send this to "We the People" to petition the Obama Administration to do at least Some of these. I cannot do it. Last time I tried, I could not get enough signatures at all. But someone else can. I think it's time we acted to Prevent the next moral panic rather then attacking it when it happens. Because it will happen someday and the quicker we do these actions the better.

Adam Lanza's "Score Sheet" Spreadsheet is a Hoax designed to Stereotype Gamers

For years, news writers have been claiming Adam Lanza created a massive 7 by 4 foot spreadsheet detailing previous killers murders. The article that it  first was mentioned in had massive anti-gamer stereotyping in it, claimed it as a "gamer score sheet", mentioned a bullshit "code of a gamer" which says it's preferable to kill  yourself then to be caught, and other nonsense.

The police and the state of Connecticut have been massively anti-gaming from the get go, back to the time of Senator Lie-Berman's BS. It's no surprise they are using this against gamers, but I still don't like it. The article stereotypes gamers as murderers, and the police are directly behind the nonsense in that article. Nonsense? Well according to me, this spreadsheet cannot exist.

Why?

The spreadsheet supposedly is 7 feet by 4 feet, written in a 9 font, and contains 500 murders in the columns. I looked at a spreadsheet made in Open Office (identical to Excel in everything but name) and found out that with a 9 font, 1 inch equaled 5 columns. Multiply that by 12 to get columns in a foot and you get 60. Multiply that by 7 (for 7 feet) and you get only 420 columns. This spreadsheet is impossible! It cannot fit 500 names in it. Therefore, it can't be real.

It's BS and the official investigation claims it's real. The state of Connecticut is using faked evidence to attack games again. And they are stereotyping gamers as murders when only 2 out of 211,000,000 gamers (0% of gamers) have killed people in 2012.  It's complete BS and it must stop.

It's stupid that Connecticut is doing this. Their Report is a farce. It never mentions why he killed
those people in the school. It only claims he was a gamer and uses that as a stereotype to attack the millions of gamers who haven't killed anyone.I think it's in  the best interest that fake investigation like this cease immediately.

Adam Lanza's "Deranged Gamer Scoresheet" A Hoax used to Scapegoat Gamers as Murderers

Ok... This is OLD news,,, From February 2013, But after Mentioning the Hypothetical conspiracy to ban violent games in this country, an old story popped in my head. In the article below, it's said that a huge 7 foot by 4 foot spreadsheet, meticulously detailing tons of different school/mass shootings, going all the way down to what weapons were used, and other little tiny details...  Then it goes on to say  the following horrible quotes that all link Adam Lanza to Violent Games and "deranged gamers".

https://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/lupica-lanza-plotted-massacre-years-article-1.1291408

" "According to the veteran, Stebbins said the State Police believe Lanza saw the massacre in terms of a video game. It has previously been reported that investigators found "thousands of dollars worth" of violent games in his house.
"They don't believe this was just a spreadsheet," the longtime cop said. "They believe it was a score sheet," and that it was "the work of a video gamer." "

"It's why he didn't want to be killed by law enforcement," said the veteran to the Daily News. "In the code of a gamer, even a deranged gamer like this little bastard, if somebody else kills you, they get your points. They believe that's why he killed himself."

Well you can see where this is going....

Number 1, there is no "Code of the gamer" that says it's preferable to KILL yourself in a game to save your points.... Almost No violent games HAVE points anymore, some do, but NONE that I know of take your points away if you get killed by the opposition, in Multi player, which can only what this is describing, because the whole game ends if you die in single player 99% of the time, and in cases where it doesn't (rare), I can't remember ones where dying made you loose points and the opposition got yours.

Number 2, this whole score sheet thing sounds fake, like the hoaxes I have debunked that are publicized in the Media to make it look like the Shooter  was influenced by violent games, things like the "Doom Will become reality Hoax" (debunked here), and the 3 news articles saying a modified version of doom was found on Eric Harris's site with Impossible to do features in 1999 (debunked here). To make things worse, this whole article mentioned above has been Refuted by the REAL police, making it obvious that the quote about the sick gamer and the score sheet are NOT VALID OR REAL, at all.... If the Police claim this score sheet isn't real, then....

Here is an interesting quote from a comments section of an article quoting the original New York Times Article.... Found Here..

"An article I read said this spreadsheet was printed 9 font, on print paper 9 feet long (one article) 7 feet long (another article) and 4 feet wide (both articles). Printers that can do that are usually used for blueprints and drawings. They are very very expensive...sometimes as much as a new sports car...which is why they are rented and usually not bought. The paper goes in the printer in huge rolls and the size is trimmed by the printer, based on document size. Hardly the kind of printer most folks have access to, and I don't see him asking Kinko's to print this out for him. My guess would be that as more people realize that, the size of the print paper will be omitted from future articles. Just sayin...."

Here's the problem. Using the 9 font thing, I found that for the 500 names mentioned in the article
to fit on the 7 foot by 4 foot spreadsheet, the font has to be smaller than 9. Since the font is not mentioned as anything but the 9 font (unlike the dimensions, which vary article to article, suspicious...), we can assume that with a 9 font, based on my monitor size, that 1 foot = 54
rows long, or 18 columns wide. If you multiply 54 by 7 to get the total names listed in this font
size the names come out to 378. So It's IMPOSSIBLE to fit 500 names on this spreadsheet
this way!!! Now try columns. It is even less, 126 or so. IMPOSSIBLE. Add the police refuting this and the variation of size in articles and you get a NEWSPAPER HOAX designed to make it look like gamers are the cause of the school shooting. If you use the 9 foot value, it STILL isn't enough for 500 names to fit on the spreadsheet!!!! Even if Lanza Doubled them up, it would make the data
bigger and the size would be off, so it doesn't matter. It's STILL A hoax... I can't believe no one in the gaming community attacked the Newspaper for this... Seriously!!!

Is The Government Covering up Lies the Media Spread about Doom after Columbine?

Last night, I started watching the anti-video game violence BS videos I've been posting on youtube since 2010.  At least one video goes into a Conspiracy Theory of mine saying that all the attacks on video games that seem bogus in this country are part of a government conspiracy to cause violent games to be gotten rid of, banned, etc... It's a crazy theory, but it has stuff to back it up.

One of the ideas that I keep bringing up to back this up is that articles making up utter bullshit about Doom, and how these news pages linking this have been mysteriously taken down!!! Basically there are 3 articles that claim Harris modified doom to train for the school shooting on. But the modified version of doom was proven by me to be completely false... But since then the sites hosting the 3 articles online have been Mysteriously shutting down......

Here is a site that used to host an article, the second on of the 3 with the most faked features supposedly found in the article. Now the site is no longer there:

Now, here is what is left of a site that used to host the times news article that started this whole thing. It's now mysteriously shut down..... Is this evidence of a coverup?

Going into the features of the modified version of doom, I have proven it could not have possibly been real... Doom simply could NOT do the features the described in 1999.  The weird thing is that the more you look into the claims you start seeing tons and tons of little inconsistencies that make it seem like a bunch of people were spreading anti-doom rhetoric (tm).  According to the articles, the hate site tracking group found the fake doom on his Website. But the following article claims the person mentioned from the group found it on his computer..... What the hell...  Are they in on the possible conspiracy to try to get games banned using fake evidence to cause an outcry and government intervention? I don't know but... It's very suspicious....

Notice how the top article's image says the the modified version of doom on was found on his PC. And it didn't even say it was a modified version, it wasn't even made clear. Below it says that the same group found it on his website. Which is true? Which is false? Are they both false like I suspect? I don't know... But it's very suspicious that nonsense like this, was cited in over 100 different "attack sites" all bringing it up as proof that doom either was a factor or a cause for the school shooting, even thought the version of doom mentioned is not real. Later on, these articles claims were used against violent games in Brown VS EMA in a right wing anti-violent games group's Amicus brief, filled with other major lies such as video games break down the inhibition to kill (debunked here), that Cornell learned how to shoot from doom, and doom only and other similar things (debunked here).  and then later the sites hosting the articles, long after I started my debunking on them, started mysteriously going down. I think there is a coverup going on but I can't prove it. It's just very suspicious to me.

Comments attacking violent games on news articles, filled with BS, Surprise!!!!

For years, I have been seeing BS comments on newspaper articles that attack video games for controversial reasons such as causing school shootings, violent content, etc. Calling violent games "trash", "junk" or "garbage" is a common one I have seen thousands of times since 1999. Always being bugged by crap excuses like this and people saying crap about gamers, I committed myself to studying just how many of the comments from articles I found, could be considered inflammatory toward gamers, games, the industry, and most important, spread lies about violent games. The results were quite shocking, to say the least...
So I embarked on this study last year. The total results were from 7 parts published on my wordpress blog and the details are cited below... Part 6 is available here as well. (The first 5 out of 7 were deleted due to possible libel complaints down the road... I wanted to avoid that, but the specific comment types were recorded in another post online, but that was accidentally deleted last night)

"I am continuing my study into the nature of comments attacking violent games on articles in newspaper sites online. By definition the comments must fit these categories to be considered ‘attacking violent games’…
A) Spread lies about violent games
A2) Making up new lies about violent games .
B) Call for games to be banned outright
C) Call for games to be restricted to adults
D) Enforce negative gamer stereotypes
D2) Shows dislike, hate, or a grudge towards gamers.
E) A Bias towards gaming, such that the person commenting thinks games don’t deserve 1st amendment
protection,  the industry is marketing “trash” to my kids, etc.
F) Not sure what violence effects on kids are a restriction might be in order…
G) Attacking the ESRB due to some flawed thing like the FTC study or the fact ‘my 9 year old’ could get bulletstorm.
H) Wants violent game manufacturers sued or games boycotted.
The Previous 6 parts of the study found that, out of 77 comments, 57% were spreading lies about violent games, 31% had a clear bias towards violent games, 7% wanted violent games banned, or violent game makers sued, and 4% wanted violent games restricted to adults.

Results:
Out of all 97 comments in parts 1-7, 64 are spreading lies about violent games. That’s 65%
Out of 97 comments in parts 1-7, 26 have clear bias towards violent games, violent gaming companies, or the industry. That’s 26%
Out of 97 comments, 5 wanted violent games banned, and 5 more wanted the companies that make these game sued. that’s dropped to 5% for each.  3% wanted violent games restricted to adults.
Out of 97 comments, 7 made up totally new lies about violent games. that’s 7%. It’s small but still significant that this is happening.
Out of 97 comments, 4 enforced negative gamer stereotypes.  (4%)
Out of 97 comments,  4 showed a clear hate or dislike towards gamers. (4%).

Lies that are made up from the blue seem to be getting more popular in the last few articles. These lies are brand new, and are being spread by commenters. They are not from various news articles, or psychologists. These ones are troubling. Who would gain from complete nonsense being spread about a violent game by people who knowingly spread these lies that they know are not true? If you make up a total nonsense claim about a violent game you know you haven’t heard before, you have to know it’s a lie… Right? So who would gain?
Do anti-gamers sign up under fake names and spread more lies?
I can’t say. But these lies seem to hint at that. These aren’t the things I have heard from the so-called “experts” on media violence. These are totally new to me….  And they are false… But…  Do we really have a generation of libeling right wing anti-violent games groups hiring members to sign up with fake names to make up BS claims about violent games and post them in comments? I think we do. But I can’t prove it. But if they ARE doing this… It is VERY alarming… I will keep track of these lies that seem to be made up by commenters to see if others repeat them in other articles. I have an idea to see how many people are gullible enough to believe nonsense that is spread. More on it later…."
Now to read the worst of the comments and my response (if I responded to it in the original surveys at all):

(A certain comment, quoted from part 6)
“And it games cause violence, so be it. If a gamer tries to be violent with you, remember this one rule of thumb, so to speak. Since gamers spend a lot of time inside playing games, they are physically weak. As long as you can avoid their powerful, unnaturally strong thumbs, you should be able to subdue them.”
Pitiful. Who in the hell actually thinks that “violent gamers” should be “subdued”. Someone who hates gamers who think gamers cause school shootings, like that idiot who threatened to kill me on the newspaper forum back in 1999 after Columbine. This goes beyond a mere perpetrating anti-gamer stereotypes and goes to wanting them physically hurt. Is this a trend? First we’re bullies, and now we need to be “Subdued”. Moronic.

(source story DELELTED to cover it up?)

“others are using pseudo facts to support their bias towards games in the guise of anti-censorship”.

Source : http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-10430358-17.html
"games have 'passive and casual avatar rape and murder' in them"

2 Words : Custer’s Revenge. 1989! Stop making this damn fake claim of rape simulators up… It’s idiotic. These people read biased articles that keep putting that lie in the game and everyone believes this  tripe. It’s ridiculous.

“Remember when the cigarette companies kept saying that no one had “proven” that cigarettes CAUSE cancer? So we continued to let the ads run where all the kids could see them. Lots of people died. Has it yet been scientifically proven that cigarettes cause cancer? Do you believe they do anyway?
Here’s the future of gaming: TVs as big as your entire living room wall. Life size enemies. Realistic wireless game guns with a loud bang and a huge kick. Maybe actual gun makers will make a wireless game clip that you can pop in the real gun where the bullet clip goes. Maybe someone will make an accessory that throws fake blood all over you when you shoot a game enemy at close range.
That’s OK, because no one has scientifically proven that violent games make the players more prone to violence. Until they do, let the carnage continue! “

Now you can see the idiocy being spread by commenters and how many comments attacking violent games are filled with anti-gamer stereotypes, hate towards gamers, games, the industry, etc, and how much they spread complete lies, fabrications, all designed to make violent games look bad after a school shooting. Every time I heard the media using fake claims like "violent games make kids violent/aggressive", "violent games are used in the military to break down the inhibition to kill", "violent games link to real life violence is greater than cigarettes link to cancer", "Violent games are being marketed to kids", "violent games are recruitment tools", "violent games that allow you to rape and pee on people", "violent games that allow you to stalk virtual women and rape them", "violent games are training tools", etc, I always here at least 1 commenter per article respreading them, and in some of the claims, you get "special anonymous advertisers" repeatedly and maliciously advertising the book for the author who made up the "video games are being used in the military to break down the inhibition to kill" BS claim, on talk shows after Columbine, a Hack Psychologist. You also get TONS of comments, on how gamers are psychopaths, sociopaths, how gamers should be subdued, how we're "gamer shitheads", how we are "gamer druggies", how gamers are all potential school shooters, and much worse. It's a real problem, because the exact same claims made about gamers being sociopaths/potential school shooters/violent people were also made by certain anti-gaming fundies on newspapers as well, after 1 or 2 immature gamers threatened their lives.... Being a death threat victim myself from similar people to the people  who claim they are being threatened (and multiple ones claim they did, without proof of course), it makes them look like complete hypocrites, because they unknowingly (or knowingly) support people who intentionally make other peoples lives miserable on message boards just to prove "gamers get violent", as  the moron troll on the message board of a newspaper did to multiple gamers 24/7 for 3 months, and said "I have enough evidence that gamers get violent" (the responses to their death threats probably), has been swept under the rug and covered up. It's pathetic. The fact that there are people out there that think all gamers are sociopath's because of people like Eric Harris, or any other damn reason, I don't give a fuck, is sick in itself....  I know at least 10 guys who have played video games before, 5 were serious gamers, NONE were sociopaths. Maybe 1 or 2 gamers are "sociopaths" but that's just a goddamn coincidence, not proof that games take completely normal children and turn them into sociopaths... Sheesh..

Now to show off comments making complete NEW lies up, all completely false, but apparently some people besides wackos in anti-gamer right wing religious groups like to make up false claims about violent games...

“But the videos in question, which the court ruled that kids can see, allows them to virtually stalk, beat, rape, and defile virtual women in a range of perverse and degrading ways. That is purely sick”
THERE ARE NO GAMES THAT ALLOW PEOPLE TO DO THESE THINGS….

Source : http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/07/sex-and-the-supremes/
“It’s offensive and embarrassing the Supreme Court will afford murder in all its contexts—self-defense, revenge, military mission, zombie killer, mobster—and variety–disembowelment, decapitation, abassination, guns, chainsaws—more protection that sex.”
Most of these things aren’t even murder…… Only assassination, mobster are… The rest are either military combat, “self-defense”, or combat…. how is “zombie killer” murder? Idiots like this astound me. Especially when they bring up disembowelment, and and decapitation, which are rare in most violent games!
Source : http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/07/sex-and-the-supremes/
"1 comment of type A2) Making up new lies about violent games – Claims violent games as training tools to recruit military at young age, says violent games ‘permanently burn memories’ into the minds of children, blah-blah blah… Common. Back up your crap. You can’t therefore it’s a lie."
Source : http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-10430358-17.html
1 Comment of type A2) Making up new lies about violent games – Claims violent games and action movies have too much things happening at once, overloading the brain, causing ‘anti-social behavior’ in kids. WTF?
Source : http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-10430358-17.html
“But the videos in question, which the court ruled that kids can see, allows them to virtually stalk, beat, rape, and defile virtual women in a range of perverse and degrading ways. That is purely sick”

Source : http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/07/sex-and-the-supremes/
"The Commenter Claims just because he drove around for days and because of the length, he was forced to automatically do things without knowing he did them, the ‘kids that play games 18,20,24 hours a day will go into kill mode!’ Is this another hack psychologist worshipper unknowingly or knowingly advertising his best seller?"

Now they are making up utter crap about games in comments.... Some of these comments seem like something a moron in a right wing pro-censorship group would say, like the "perminantly burn memories", and "overloading the brain", and the "going into kill mode" ones...  In my honest opinion we have a bunch of pro-censorship morons both saying things like this, all completely made up to the media, especially after school shootings, and also on forums with fake names. I can't prove it, but those 3 comments are too suspicious to ignore, in light of all the very similar nonsense made up claims anti-gamers keep on making on talk shows, newspapers, etc after a school shooting. I have heard every single goddamned fake claim being made up about violent games by the anti-gamer right wing morons. I know them all by heart... These ones are new to me... What actual gain would a normal person have to actually post some claim they made up to make games look bad on a message board? None. Now what gain would a right wing anti-gaming moron from one of  those anti-gaming groups that keep spreading crap about violent games in the media, have to post something like this on forums? More people could believe the lies they post, and their claims could be spread to other forums. It all spirals out of control when one person online says one fake claim, others repost it quite quickly, everyone believes it because people today have been brainwashed to believe everything they hear.  This effect, greatly aids such right wing violent game censors, trust me it does..

This whole spread of lies is, IMHO, part of a much bigger scheme to get violent games banned for 1 reason, they offend religious right nutjobs.  There is evidence to suggest in many places that the media makes up utter crap about violent games, and the politicians believe it. But that isn't enough to get a ban to happen, because they need faked evidence to sway the supreme court, to fight against a claim of unconstitutionality. Faked evidence in the form of hoaxes were spread in April/May 1999 and in an Amicus Brief done by a right wing pro-family group, these hoaxes were cited as evidence to prove violent games make people violent.... This group has been known to recycle 2 very false claims about violent games over and over again, the claims that games have "decapitation of prostitutes" and "sodomizing victims with broomsticks". This groups claims cannot be true, because research done by me on my wordpress blog revealed how fake these 2 claims are.

This whole thing is been engineered to create the violent game bans the censor/anti-gamers want.... The thing is that the media spreading lies and hoaxes being made by the media and others are being used to hijack the supreme court now.... You then add in justices who are for violent games through the election of a conservative christian president (like the candidate who supports a complete game ban), and what's to stop the supreme court from having a hung jury (and going back to the law that was passed before they looked at it on grounds of unconstitutionality), or even finding it constitutional via faked evidence in Amicus Briefs and 4 justices who support the idea of a violent games ban. This could happen if you add these 2 things in, the faked evidence in Amicus briefs and new justices who support bans... It's scary... Something must be done about it and the lies being spread... More on that for another article or video... Stay tuned gamers

The ‘Doom Will Become Reality’ Hoaxers Exposed? (Old Blog Repost)

As you may or may not know, A phrase attributed to Eric Harris “Doom Will become reality”, used to ‘prove’ Doom’s Influence on his homicidal Rage on April 20′th 1999, has been proven by the FBI as a Hoax. Thanks to Acolumbinesite.com. What that site did not do is hint at who hoaxed this. The phrase came from an AOL webpage masquerading as his site (according to an article which has mysteriously dissapeared online) . And  the FBI proved it was made too late to be his work (see : This site – look at the bottom right of the page, after clicking the bottom right most link)

What I am about to do is show you who I think is responsible…. I cannot prove it…. But one thing I can do is eliminate the possibility that it is some odd hacker, who brute-forced his way into Harris’s AOL Page (if that article that's gone now is wrong) .Number 1, I determined that the earliest newspaper ‘reports’ using the phrase were published on April 23, 1999. Doing a Little research I discovered how long an average person would have to wait to keep trying all the the available characters that could be used in the password, till he or she got it right and gained access to the site builder to upload the hoax HTML File.  Brute forcing is what this tactic is called. It’s the hardest but the most thorough way to figure out a password that you don’t know so you can gain access to a site that’s not yours or break into an encrypted file that you lost the password to or want to get in for some other reason. Brute forcing tests every single possible combination of characters that can be used in a password over and over again till you get the right one. The amount of time needed to do this depends on many factors.

1) Internet connection Speed
2) Lag from other Programs
3) Password Length
4) Luck

It takes Ages… But how long is the question. Could a hacker do it in 2 1/2 days before the reporters who were given access to the AOL files Harris put on his site could have found it? The answer is…….. Well see below…

from This Post

This post proves that there is no way anyone could have done it in 2 1/2 to 3 days.. It takes YEARS.A century of work AT LEAST…. So the possibility that some random hacker hacked in to Harris’s Aol Page has been pretty much eliminated. But the reporters?  But did they plant the Hoax? I think some reporter did this… I can’t prove it… And won’t say which newspaper he worked for. But a newspaper has the most to gain from faking the ‘doom will become reality claim’, because then they could spin the whole thing to damn video games to give the scapegoat the parents and the community want. You can’t sue a mental illness. You cant! You CAN sue the industry. If ‘evidence’ is found… the whole thing could be made to errupt into a the next big media frenzy on violent entertainment corrupting kid minds and making them killers. And that’s what happened!

How to purposely engineer an Anti-gaming "Aggression" Study. (old blog repost)

Kids are aggressive. They get into fights all the time. The reasons are so varied that it's really not fair to label one thing the media keeps leeching itself on to : Violent games.  How do you know it wasn't bullying? Child Abuse? Drug Abuse? Mental Illnesses?  Bad Parenting? Stupidity? the list goes on. The studies themselves, that seem to show that violent games lead to aggressive behavior, however are a complete farce... They just are.

The methods used are designed to incite the result the anti-gamers want. That result is that violent games always increase aggression. You can't take several kids, measure their aggression in any way and determine it's result without careful study of all the factors involved. These hack psychologists don't do that..  They engineer fake results in many of the studies, (not all, but many).
This is the process used to get that result...

A) Take Half of your study group and make them play 'non-violent games' like sports games and puzzle games.
B) take the other half, subject them to electroshock therapy (I'm not kidding you there, I read it off a PDF of a study I cannot find the link to, because the article I linked was on my old blog, which I shut down to avoid libel.), And make them play 'uber violent games, GTA, Killzone 2,etc...
(From this article)
C) They now select the kids and make them all look at violent imagery or 'normal imagery'. Then they measure the brainwaves while this is happening.  Problem 1, lack of a reaction  to an image doesn't mean the game caused the lack of a reaction! It doesn't prove Aggression at all! All it proves, is Apathy! The lack of caring for a subject... People are offended by different things. Person 1 could find violent image 1 disturbing but person 2 will not. If person 2 played violent games, how the hell do you know it isn't some other issue causing the 'lack of brainwaves', which to me is quite the hack method in determining reaction. It sounds like a very flawed science to measure brainwaves, to determine a response. How do you know the result of the brainwave drop? Out of all the possible results? They don't test for these results do they? No they don't. Now the other  problem, is that the kids are going to be aggressive for a time being after being pumped up. They test for  the 'aggression' immediately, they don't wait till later when the levels drop... Now the other, less obvious problem, is that they don't know what causes the brainwave drop, they don't know the source. They want to make the games look like the source.. So

(Also From this article)

D) They subject the kids who played violent games to compete against eachother in a game where one kid gets to blast loud noise in the losers ears for a certain amount of seconds. But the time values involved are so small, that it's not much of a result. The time lapse is literally less than a second in some cases. So the more 'aggressive' kid holds down the button a millisecond longer. Yeah... Nice proof there. The point is, is It doesn't prove aggression... Which is always mixed up with VIOLENCE, by the anti-gamers. Like these kids are at risk of being the next Eric Harris. BS.

E) Fail to even do basic research to eliminate other causes of aggression!  No investigation is done on the kids to see if they might have problems that could lead to aggression, from factors such as bullying/drug abuse/child abuse/etc. It's not even brought up.

To bring up another point, "desensitization" to violent games doesn't prove much. All it proves is that your brain has become more accustomed to the violence in the portrayal. It doesn't mean you will act it out. Watching CSI does the same thing. But another thing bothers me about these studies. What games are the 'violent' ones chosen by psychologists. Are they games with violent combat but not disgustingly violent or are they the ones where you gun down people and chop their heads off like GTA. The choice will determine the result. Likewise do they choose sports games or kiddie games. I think they purposely chose ones that will set up the biggest difference between brain scan results and blast test results. Why not? Fudging the study for results isn't a new thing. I think they should make the kids play 10 violent games OF DIFFERENT violence quantities, not the same one per kid! Same thing with the non-violent ones. How do you trust a study that purposely chooses the least violent game for group 1 and the most violent game for the other group. You don't.

Another issue is the background of the 'subjects'. You make a kid who plays violent games (do they check that first?), and make him play Killzone 2, or Modern warfare. He will like it more and become more 'aggressive'. Then you take someone who plays a lot of puzzle games and he won't. Do they choose these kinds of people on purpose as well. It's really flawed if they put in the GTA loving kid to prove aggression when he plays GTA.... Isn't that biased or what?

All of this will make it so that the aggressive result favors the kids who played the violent games... It's biased... It's dirty. It's a fraud. And it's being used to create fear mongering among anti-gamer circles that eventually will lead to full Bans on violent games... It has to stop. Prove tendency of violence by other more obvious factors such as mental illness, drugs, etc, not violent games. Millions of kids and adults play violent games. Some of them, the less mature ones, will be more aggressive, but that doesn't prove they will go on school shooting rampages at all, it just proves they can't control themselves well enough to stop the aggression. (Aggression =/= Violence!). According to a poster on the article linked above there is not ONE study that proves a casual link between gaming and violence. NOT ONE!

The Continuing Erosion (first post on my other blog)

I.... Have been virulently anti-censorship since a certain "expert" on video game violence threatened to "crack my skull open"  online back in 1999, right after the columbine school massacre. I was on a forum, expressing my displeasure at how the media was lying about the nature of video games, especially Doom, a Game I've literally grown up with.

Also Being a brutal death metal nut, and a fan of all metal but metalcore, and Nu Metal, I end up hearing various ill formed stereotypes of us Metalheads being satanists, and worse... And babbling about a "global satanic cult" that is deeply routed in the metal community. Of course all of that is BS... And in later posts I will be debunking many of the claims I have heard...
But that's partly, what this blog is about.. Debunking claims made about violent games and metal, from the moronic ones that are obvious fabrications (doom will become reality hoax I debunked on my old blog on wordpress on the subject), to the almost believable claims that claim to have solid scientific evidence behind them.... But are still BS deep down inside... I am here to tell the people who don't know the truth the real facts behind the debacles effecting my 2 favorite forms of entertainment around today.

Now... I do my best to back up my statements, I need to. Many of my opponents outright refuse to do some real research to back up their claims... They just make a bunch of ridiculous claims and many times don't even back them up.. But...  I am not a newspaper writer, just a person who has researched these claims by doing various google searches on them for eons. I am not a professional and never will be. This blog may be somewhat immature... But that's my nature... Not that it will be swear-ridden rants every post.... But I am just saying I don't really give a crap if it's badly written...
The articles I post are in 2 categories... The first is new material found online that I am writing about brand new... The second is Material recycled from an offline version of my old blog on the subject... Due to me posting an article on a reddit.com and getting trolled by a bunch of conservative supporting idiots there I had to take down the blog... Why? Because one of the articles called a major anti-gaming/pro family group "nutjobs"... And they are... But due to all the Libel lawsuits I keep reading about being thrown against bloggers (WTF!)... I decided to shut it down...

Ok... On to the first claim I will debunk... The Doom will become reality hoax... This phrase, supposedly put on Eric Harris's AOL Site before Columbine is used to link the massacre to violent games by dozens of idiot violence "experts" and parental/religious groups, all attacking the industry... A google search here shows how widespread the citing of this "claim" are...
However... He never even said this.. It's a blatant hoax... And Acolumbinesite.com proved it here... But I will show you it myself...

The Doom will become reality quote there seems to make it look like Doom influenced the Columbine shooters. Maybe it did.. But this is an Obvious Hoax...

According to this the AOL page in question in the first screenshot (that is cited by dozens of anti-violence in games groups) is just a hoax, proven by the FBI... Because It was set up after April 20, 1999. Now who would gain from this hoax... That topic is for another article... But you can see the nonsense behind the scenes in the anti-violence in media world, and how idiotic it can be...
