It only gets worse. Not even a week after the stupid censors bash Doom 4, we get this nonsense. Looking on twitter I saw several posters blaming the Charleston Shooting (which was PROVEN to be caused by Racism : The shooter was demented and blamed Blacks for Rape crimes and wanted to "protect women" by killing blacks), on video games!
It doesn't get any more disgusting then this...
These idiots are complete morons. Number 1 the complete idiot who said that portraying mass murder as "Fun" in video games and TV is the cause for the shooting, is a complete idiot. Most Video Games don't portray mass murder as "fun". That's a complete bullshit statement. The only kind of games that do this are extreme "ultra-violent" shooters like GTA. They make a very small % of games, unlike what he says.
And the idiot who sayed "the shooter probably thought he was playing video games" is another fucking idiot too. I already discussed the crime. The shooter didn't think he was in a video game, that's stupid. That excuse has to stop. It's idiotic.
Witchmobs like this annoy me. Whenever some group of idiots start immediately blaming a shooting on video games without even knowing if the shooter played them, it pisses me off. That's exactly what's happening here. It's pathetic. I wish people would stop doing crap like this. We already know why the shooting happened. It had nothing to do with video games, PERIOD.
Edit:
It seems the idiocy has spread to the O'reilly factor. Bill O'reilly is claiming that video games are the problem, and even though violent games are not harmfull, "people shouldn't play them". HELLO, it's OUR choice whether we want to play violent games. Not yours, O'reilly. So stop using a tragedy to spread an agenda against violent games when the killer was a racist fanatic and games didn't have anything to do with it!
EDIT 2 :
Look at this moron:
Video games don't teach people how to kill. That's bullshit made up by the hack psychologists and disproven here.. You're an idiot. You don't lose a grip on what's real and not real by playing violent games. Anyone who says that is a propaganda source, plain and simple.
Edit 3:
Another idiotic person on twitter posting crap about violent games..
You're an idiot. "Navel gazing social media", "violent shooting video games". No site even said WHAT KIND OF GAMES HE PLAYED, yet you want to blame FPS games. Video games didn't make him violent, the paranoid belief that blacks were raping American women did!
EDIT 4:
It looks like we have yet another fucking violent video games moral panic on our hands. Who knows what will happen because of this. Will Obama try to get them banned. They will certainly try something to attack "violent" games even though the motive has nothing to do with that. It's pathetic...
FYI : People in SJW circles are already using this to post fake bullcrap that says the shooter was a #gamergate member and are using this to blame Deus : EX Mankind : Divided (and maybe the next DOOM game too). It's complete bullshit. If you ever hear the claim that shooter wanted to play either of these games, it's not remotely trustworthy...

Arrival of the stupidity that is anti-gaming violence Propaganda on twitter...
Just look at these twitter quotes from the censor who whined about the violence in the Doom 4 trailer at E3, and you will see how bad they are...
What's really sickening, is just how many complete idiots beleive what he says! There are a total of 38 likes and 18 retweets to these obvious bogus/radical claims. It's rediculous. I guess there are a bunch of farmville addicts out there who hate violent games and want to "change the industry" to get rid of all violence". It's pathetic.
It's pathetic really. These kids of people are Threatening the status quo of the gaming industry. They want violence gotten rid of completely, and the industry is embracing them? Look at all the attention they receive from industry, and tech companies. It's pathetic. Did the Hack Psychologists get such attention and praise from the Gaming Industry in the 90's and 2000's? HELL NO! These people are basically the same thing and the industry is accepting them. IT'S SICK!
The first and second quote says that the removal of any forced violence (aka making it so violence is a choice) is not good enough to be considered innovation, and implies only removal of all violence is really innovation. Basically this censor is trying to change the industry to get rid of violence slowly. Him and his video producing lacky are constantly spewing out crap about sexism in violent games that is mostly cherry picked nonsense, but crap like this needs to be exposed too..
His second quote implies that he doesn't want the ability to NOT murder every one in sight to be a choice but something that is forced on people. It's complete hogwash. It just shows you that maybe the Hack Psychologists weren't the worst video game Bullshit spreaders out there and even though they are MIA, someone else like him has replaced them.
His third quote implies that "fun" in gaming leads to real life violence. It doesn't. Over 200,000,000 gamers were alive in 2012. And even more before that. Out of that 9 gamers have committed major killing spree murders. That's still 0%....
He also tries to say reality and fantasy are entwined but that's really stupid. There is no evidence to prove this claim, it's just a bullshit claim with no proof. Since most gamers don't commit the fantasy they see in a violent game in real life, his argument is invalid.

I wish someone would do something about people like this on twitter. We have a new breed of social media infesting censors now who have the video game industry media in their pocket, maybe the media too, based on the fake BS that the newspapers cited about his "outrage" over the Doom 4 trailer. And they, the complete censorous idiots they are have tons of fans on twitter.. Here are quotes from a few...

PROOF that the Adam Lanza "Score Sheet" is FAKE.
Since the Newtown massacre, dozens of news articles have been saying Adam Lanza made a 7 by 4 foot tall spreadsheet with info on previous murders. The articles try to claim it is the work "of a deranged gamer" and that he killed himself to "save points", at the same time, stereotyping gamers as murderers.
I did some more research into the fake Adam Lanza "Deranged gamer score sheet" claim today. Apparently the original article, which is here, said it was a document on his computer. Only problem is that it was found, that he destroyed the Hard drive of his computer, according to this site. How could the spreadsheet document even exist?! A PC with a Hard drive that has failed due to destruction won't start. No way can anyone retrieve info from that Hard Drive. It's impossible. This article proves they did not succeed at retrieving data from his Hard drive, so how could this document be real?
This means that this spreadsheet claim IS fake.
This is PROOF Lupica made up this crap. He is a scumbag. People like him should be rotting in jail for spreading hate speech. It pisses me off. How can a newspaper allow him to spread nonsense like this? How can the government? Since sandy hook, the government has done NOTHING to stop the spread of media fabrications surrounding video games or gamers like the article. It's their responsibility to prevent BS like this. DO something to punish the media for calling gamers murderers and claiming this spreadsheet is real. They won't because they too think gamers are potential school shooters.
I'm demanding it!
And I want your help Connecticut gamers....
I need it.
Talk to your senators about this. Say how you dislike nonsense being spread about violent games like this fake spreadsheet. Say how the article stereotypes gamers as murderers. Say how the spreadsheet document mentioned in the article is fake and that his PC had it's hard drive destroyed so nothing could be recovered from it. The government investigation claims it's real. Complain about that too. It's disgusting. Make them feel your wrath.
I am going through with the plan to petition the government to regulate the media. I plan to go to the whitehouse.gov site and start a petition there. I don't know what it will be, but I will update the blog when I do do this petition. Your signatures will be needed (and appreciated). Stay tuned gamers.

Texas head of Probation blames violent games for crimes... Again....
I was browsing gamepolitics.com when I came across this article. Apparently some moron in the inept Texas crime punishment system is blaming violent games and music for crime. What kind of music? Not heavy metal this time, thank god, but rap, which he hits the nail on the head on, to his credit. He is right about that. But then he goes down to try to say that playing violent games will make you more likely to commit crime and then attacks various popular games (thank god none of them are actually good games)... I quote:
“As the body becomes physiologically accustomed to a little lift from a gateway drug, the person graduates to harder drugs,” Williams said, “I see video games as something where once the thrill of playing a video game is gone, what’s the next step?”
He's basically saying that crime is directly caused by playing violent games. Which is BS, because in the last few years when games were really violent and popular, crime has been dropping. He is trying to say that gamers become criminals after they get bored of a game. It's preposterous, stupid, and just a plain fucking lie. There is no way violent games will make you want to commit crime after you get bored of them. I have gotten 'bored' of the crappy games I played to death like the ones he mentions, and not once did I want to steal cars for real like I did when I was playing the shitty excuse for a series GTA is. And I don't know where he gets this info. He has no hard evidence to back up his claim whatsoever here, NONE. And here is proof:
"It should be noted that Williams did not cite a single case he had been involved in over the last 28 years where there was a correlation between playing video games and a crime being committed by a juvenile offender."
This is proof that he is pulling BS out of his ass. Like this said there hasn't been a single cited case where he mentions how a juvenile offender played violent games and then committed a crime. He just says there is but can't back it up because he's an anti-gamer asshole.
"Williams also took the time to list the games "kids are playing today" including Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty, Postal 2, Postal 3, and Grand Theft Auto V. At least he mentioned two games that teens might actually be playing..."
He then tries to claim kids are playing these games (GTA, Postal 2/3, Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat). Call of duty he is right about. But the others, not so much. The average age of a gamer today as found out by the ESA is 30. 30! Not a kid. The whole idea that kids play violent games and only kids play them is nonsense that I have debunked on a blog post somewhere in a myths post. It's nonsense.
Notice how he singles out those 5 games and tries to claim all violent games lead to crime? Well I did and this is total bullshit. Games like that are a small percentage of violent games. There are tons of idiots in newspaper articles singling out Postal 2 as an example of what "most violent games are like" to attack the EMA vs Brown Decision. This is no different. It's blatant stereotyping. There are many shooters/RPG's/other games that are violent and do NOT push the envelope like GTA or Mortal Kombat does. GTA and it's ilk make up less than 10% of total violent games ever made. He is simply using his position, like cops do to try to demean the gaming industry by making it look like these 5 crappy games are good examples of "realistic" violent games (when they are not), and then saying all games cause crime. It's Bullshit, Don't believe it. And he's an ass.

Columbine Doom hoax search results and Fake Doom BS
Today, after reading the articles I posted on the Doom Hoaxes, where Doom was blamed for columbine using fake evidence, fabricated in 1999, I decided to write another article about video game related nonsense and how my efforts to debunk such hoaxes have really helped to show how idiotic the doom moral panic was.
The first such hoax "Doom will become reality", supposedly was said on Eric Harris's website but several sites proved that it was fake at the time. But their proof did not get far, because many more sites said this was proof that Doom did in fact cause columbine, all attacking violent video games at the same time. At the time, any and all search results for the phrase lead to sites attacking violent games. My debunking it helped to change that however. Go search for "Doom Will become reality" on google.com and you get this:
My blogs and videos debunking this nonsense are now at the top of the results. Surprise! Saying that the Doom will become reality hoax is just that, over and over again can do wonders to the search results. My stuff has seriously trumped all the anti-gamer nonsense BS sites saying Doom was the cause for the massacre.
But this thing doesn't end here.
Another much more complex hoax involved 3 articles from 3 newspaper saying a modified version of doom was found on Eric Harris's website/or computer. (it differs per source, weirdly). The modified version of doom had begging students saying a certain phrase and many features doom could not do in 1999. At the time searching for some phrase in the articles themselves led to tons of sites all citing the claims like they were a fact. That is still true. But if you google "modified version of doom columbine" you get the most popular article and my debunkings right below it. Not as successful as the last debunking, but close.
Now if you googled the phrase "Doom caused columbine" before I mentioned the phrase over and over again with various articles here, you would get tons of sites saying that Doom did in fact cause columbine. Now this is what you get:
After the wikipedia article, my debunking is right below! I never expected the debunking to get so high in the search results. I expected that some people would read it and then stow it away, and at best I would get mentioned on some gaming forum. I wasn't expecting my results on the Doom will become reality hoax to include my articles first. With all the sites (100's) saying that this hoax is proof doom did cause columbine, you'd expect my post to be much lower, but no.
But before we go, I want to do another Fake Doom BS debunking right here. Not quite as popular in the game attacking sites as the 2 last ones but still mentioned from time to time is the following long paragraph written by Harris himself:
"everyone should be put to a test. an ULTIMATE DOOM test, see who can survive in an environment using only smarts and military skills. put them in a doom world. no authority, no refuge, no BS copout excuses. If you cant figure out the area of a triangle or what "cation" means, you die! if you cant take down a demon w/ a chainsaw or kill a hell prince w/ a shotgun, you die! fucking snotty rich fuckheads [Censored by J.C.Sheriff Office] who rely on others or on sympathy or $ to get them through life should be put to this challenge. plus it would get rid of all the fat, retarded, crippled, stupid, dumb, ignorant, worthless people of this world. no one is worthy of this planet only me and who ever I choose. there is just no respect for anything higher than your fucking boss or parent. everyone should be shot out into space and only the people I saw should be left behind. 4/12/98"
This phrase is clearly talking about doom multi player, not actually putting people in a school shooting situation. Any gamer can see that. But the people who never played video games would see it a different way, because of the way the articles using this against doom quoted it. The "ultimate doom challenge" is clearly just multi player. Not a school shooting. After that he goes into a total psychotic attack against people who are rich and says they should be killed. But this is used to blame doom constantly. How do we debunk this?
We look for other references to doom in his writings. In most of them Doom is mentioned with other things such as war, with no context to what they are actually describing, such as "this will be like doom, ww2, the korean war rolled into one". What is he talking about. You can't tell. There is no way to know, so how to the anti-gamers know this is about the massacre? They don't. They just want others to believe it is. In all of his writings there is plenty of evidence that Doom was NOT influencing him to commit the massacre.. this following quote proves it:
"someones bound to say "what were they thinking?" when we go NBK or when we were planning it, so this what I am thinking. "I have a goal to destroy as much as possible so I must not be sidetracked by my feelings of sympathy, mercy, or any of that, so I will force myself to believe that everyone is just another monster from Doom like FH or FS or demons, so It's either me or them. I have to turn off my feelings." keep this is mind, I want to burn the world, I want to kill everyone except about 5 people, who I will name later, so If you are reading this you are lucky you escaped my rampage because I wanted to kill you. It will be very tricky getting all of our supplies, explosives, weaponry, ammo, and then hiding it all and then actually planting it all so we can achieve our goal. but if we get busted any time, we start killing then and there, just like Wilks from the AlIENS books, I aint going out without a fight."
Notice how he said he would have to "force himself to believe all students are doom monsters" to turn off his feelings during the massacre? No way is this something doom did. Look for more references to Doom in the writings I linked and you get one reference to WW2, and one to the doom shotgun, the ultimate doom test and this. That's it.
Speaking of ww2. Why is the obvious fact and motive that Harris was a Nazi fuckhead completely looked over? Do I have to quote the exact quote where he worships hitler/Nazi's. now. But search for it and you will find more info on his obssession with Nazi's. Why was this totally ignored by all the groups that attacked doom? It's all over his writings, Racial Slurs, references to Nazi's, swastika's, plane as day to see. Yet this was totally ignored and Doom was blamed instead? WTF!
In any ordinary mind this would be much more likely motive than being "brainwashed by doom". But people in Colorado started blaming doom right and left till it was mass hysteria. It got so out of control that even I was threatened by some dickhead on a forum over it (long story). This is just more proof that the people blaming doom, skipping over his hatred of people/love for Nazi's, are complete idiots. His multiplayer "Ultimate Doom test" was used like the "Doom will become reality hoax" to demonize Doom constantly in various attack sites, even to this day. It's rediculous.
At least I can try to stop this nonsense, and I think I have been relatively sucessful.

MA tries to start another violent game Witchhunt!!!
Well it seems the idiots attacking violent games never stop, do they? On the heels of the idiotic study into so called violent games "effects" on kids set up by Senator Jay Rockefeller, We have my state trying to start the same old nonsense again. A politician in MA has decided that it would be a good
idea to start a biased study to study the effect of games on kids again.... Right after MA stalled their bill aiming to restrict violent games so they could not be bought by adults. These "studies" popping up everywhere get to me. Because just like all of the other game attacking studies, these
are bound to be biased, and engineered to show a certain result. A lot of other studies are funded by the Center for Successful parenting, a group that has this in their mission statement "We aim to motivate leaders of <insert tons of industries here> to change culture so violence is not shown to
children" basically meaning "ban violent games", because changing the culture of violence can only done by removing the violence.
The current studies by Rockefeller and this idiot in MA are troubling. The Rockefeller study, has language in it's text that tells that the studies can find whatever results they want, because it asks if the violent games have any "new" effects on kids. After the brief but stupid moral panic
surrounding child molestation and it's nonexistent link to violent game playing, spurred by that
Preacher Boykin and Ralph Nader, I wondered if they could use the vague language in the study to find that violent game playing leads to child molestation and pedophilia. To see what the Study in MA does I looked at the text of the study closely...
I got the text from this source:
"That a special commission is hereby established for the purposes of making an investigation and study relative to video games as a form of media and as a training tool. Within that context, the commission will focus upon video games that allow the player to simulate severe battery or killing (“killing games”). The commission will study, investigate, and provide conclusions regarding: (i) the social benefits, impacts and implications of video games in general and killing games in particular, comparing the impact on youth with the impact on adults; (ii) the use of video games as military training devices, educational devices, and other training applications; (iii) how video games compare to other forms of media in terms of their ability to recreate a realistic experience, to desensitize the consumer, to train the consumer to accept certain ideas, and to teach the player new skills or capabilities; (iv) the addictive quality of video games; (v) any connection, including any exposure t or imitation of behaviors exhibited in video games, between killing games and actual violence, including rampage killings that have taken place since 1990; (vi) the reasoning and conclusions drawn in the majority, concurring, and dissenting opinions in Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association, as well as other freedom of speech considerations relative to the regulation of video games, in light of the conclusions drawn by the commission pursuant to (i)-(v); and (vii) the anticipated cost of any proposals to regulate video games. The commission members will play or
observe killing games directly during the course of their investigation."
So this study wants to see if games are an effective training tool. We've been told BS in the newspapers from the hack psychologists that violent games are being used in the military to break down the inhibition to kill. But this blog, written by a military trained
soldier debunks the whole thing. I quote:
"I'm not aware of any military unit that uses video games to break down the inhibition to kill. In fact, this breakdown really only occurs in one place:
Boot camp.
Boot camp doesn't even specifically concentrate on the inhibition to kill. Rather, they follow the CIA training manual for brainwashing almost point by point, in order to instill in recruits 'instant and willing obedience to lawful orders' - that is what they do. The assumption, of course, is
that these orders may be to kill; But they could be to drag a wounded child to safety, or set up a bunker in 100 degree weather, or pull night watch after being up for a 36-hour convoy.
The inhibition to kill can only be broken down by, wait for it . . . killing.
When we were parked on the outskirts of Fallujah and watched as night fell and the Iraqis came out onto the streets, even though our orders were much more liberal than the current Rules of Engagement, there was still hesitation. And this after our convoy had turned around after taking fire at the front.
When we got ambushed, it was actually unfortunate that my extensive game-playing hadn't prepared me at all for the sheer confusion, excitement, fear and horror of those moments.
If you think America's Army is anything but a half-decent game and a lame recruitment tool, you've never run an obstacle course, or been 'quarterdecked'
by a DI.
If you think Halo can help you learn how to shoot, you've never tried to get ten in the black from 500 yards with the piece-of-shit M16A2, with your elbows getting ground by sand trapped in your cammies and the sun causing sweat on your forehead which drips into your eyes.
Video games, or things resembling games, are being used in some areas of the military.
During training ops higher ups often pit virtual countries against each other, but these are basically pushing pieces, simulating battles and using the troops to set up comm architectures and run test flights.
Some first-person-shooters are used by infantry troops to plan out tactics - but these are mostly for higher-level planners; Games will never, ever take the place of constant, demanding, mind-numbing repetition. Proper execution of maneuvers rely on muscle memory; Drill, in boot camp,
forms the introduction to this doctrine.
Rainbow Six may let you breach and clear, but this doesn't translate to the motions or related actions: Which direction do you break? What targets are you responsible for? Who can declare a room 'all clear'? Did you check your overhead?
Flight simulators seem like video games, though I'm sure those responsible for both maintaining and operating them see them more as necessary steps to save billions of dollars worth of equipment from inexperienced hands.
If you want to know how to make a person prone to suggestion to kill, look here.
If anyone would like my breakdown of how boot camp uses the steps for Interrogation of Resistant Sources, just let me know.
The only way, then, I would even consider the argument that violent media makes for violent children is if it could be proven that those children who have been violent were denied any sort of balancing social forces. That is, if you took a child and locked him in a room
and forced violent images day in and day out and brought them to the level of an infant and replaced their language with one of your own devising and had them progress their violence on increasingly complex organisms -- THEN, and only then, would I be willing to entertain that the media was
a factor. And even then, it was not the cause. The cause was you, the sick fuck that provided no guidance other than a violent outlet.
That's how fascists work. They replace free social exchange with their ideas, they re-form language to their own ends ("Quite apart from the suppression of definitely heretical words, reduction of vocabulary was regarded as an end in itself . . . "), they make natural human sexuality taboo, they declare the War on Some Drugs, they attempt to regulate and control every aspect of human growth and exploration. They embrace stagnation of society and the mind."
The fact that the studies author is bringing this nonsense claim up to the Government is proof that the the government is trying to ban violent games again, IMHO. It must be stopped before it gets to the 90 day phase (see below), or we could have a MA ban on violent games to adults. Not to kids.
"The commission shall consist of: the Governor or a designee, who shall chair the commission; a member of the general public appointed by the Governor; 3 members of the Senate, chosen by the Senate President, 1 of which is a member of the minority party; 3 members of the House of Representatives that are chosen by the Speaker, 1 of which is a member of
the minority party; 1 constitutional lawyer who specializes in freedom of speech; the Massachusetts Attorney General or a designee; 2 psychologists or psychiatrists, at least one of whom is a mental health professional specializing in addiction; the Secretary of Education or a designee who is an educator; a member of the military who engages in military training; a representative of the video game industry; and a representative of the law enforcement community."
At least one of the people involved has a bias against violent games if I am right. They mention "a member of the military who specializes in military training". This fits one of the Hack Psychologist to a tee. Another Hack Psychologist could be in it too if I am right, "1 constitutional lawyer who specializes in freedom of speech" sounds a lot like a retired anti-game activist everyone
in the community hates to me. They also mention how they need to study the impact of the proposed regulation on free speech, probably as a cheap way to see how they can make a constitutional law that causes violent games to not get in the hands of adults, such as the Oklahoma tax on 1% of all property every time someone in OK played, stored, bought and otherwise consumed violent games.
They also want to study how violent games have caused mass killings like columbine (I assume). Whats to stop them from not believing the nonsense spread by the idiots in the government, the media, and unknown parties that says violent games influenced Harris/Klebold/
Lanza, etc? Such things include the Doom will become reality hoax and similar "tidbits of information" that seem to make it look like mass killers played violent games but this info is badly written at the least, and is outright lies at the worse.
"Legislative appointments shall be made not later than 30 days after the effective date of this resolve. The chairperson shall meet with the full commission not later than 90 days after the effective date of this resolve. Members shall not receive compensation for their services but may receive reimbursement for the reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their responsibilities as members of the commission. Upon appropriation of sufficient funds, the commission shall engage professional "advisors as needed to accomplish its purposes.
"Not later than 270 days after the effective date of this resolve, the commission shall report to the general court the result of its investigation and study and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry its recommendations into effect by filing the same with the clerk of the House of Representatives. "
We have 90 days to stop this, gamers. I want every gamer in MA to write their Representatives, using this message:
"Dear Representitive.
I am your constituent, and I am alarmed by the study our senate has started dealing with video game violence and the whole idea that the effects on kids and how violent games are a training tool for the military needs to be studied. For years studies like this have been done and many are methodologically flawed, using cheap ways to say violent games lead to violent behavior or aggression, such as subjecting the violent game playing kids to electroshock therapy. It's very important to note that any evidence that violent games cause real life crimes has to be doubted. There are many hoaxes going around and media fabrications that make it seem like violent games cause real life violence. If you do a google.com search for the "doom will become reality hoax" you will find a blog debunking a
claim that was used to "prove" eric Harris was influenced by the video game Doom while shooting up the school. This claim is a hoax, a fake website said "doom will become reality" and the FBI proved the site was not Eric Harris's real site. Also many claims are spreading that violent games break down the inhibition to kill. These are false claims spread by 2 anti-gaming activists in the 90's and the below linked site debunks them totally. The site is a blog ran by a Soldier in IRAQ, telling how violent games could never break down the inhibition to kill, and only Boot Camp obedience training does this.....
http://designsynthesis.blogspot.com/2005/03/training-our-kids-to-kill.html
I find it disgusting that the government would spend millions of tax dollar money on a bill that would
have restricted violent games to minors so adults could not buy them. There is no reason to study
the false connections between violent games and Real life killings, all invented by the media and anti-gaming groups. The hoax mentioned above was used as "evidence" against the industry in an Anti-Gaming Group's Amicus Brief. This group is from the Midwest, they are called the Eagle Forum, and they are pro-religious zealots who think violent games should be banned to adults and gamers should all be dealt with somehow. They were trying to fool the Justices in the SCOTUS to think this evidence is real and not a hoax. One of the people championing the break down to kill "theory" is a zealot former lawyer who once said on the gamepolitics forums that all gamers need to get the Death Penalty. If you plan to study these things, you must be sure NOT to be swayed by these types. For they tried to sway the EMA vs BROWN Case and others..... I just don't think this study is a good thing because it looks like people like these kinds of people are on the group conducting the study.
I don't like the idea of fake evidence being used to sway any people to believe this nonsense is real.
A study like this is almost impossible to be Not swayed by people like this. I am against
it for this reason, and I hope you are too."
Send this message to your Representatives, gamers. Maybe we can get them to stop this now... If it doesn't work, I urge people to resend it over and over again, till they stop the study. Flood their Inboxes over and over again, till their network slows down, if they
fail to listen. It's important to stop nonsense like this.
idea to start a biased study to study the effect of games on kids again....
UK Deputy Prime Minister Stereotypes Gamers as "hermetically sealed".
Well.. Reading gamepolitics.com lately has not gotten me much to work with, story wise. But this article has me scratching my head... Basically the Deputy UK prime minister is saying GTA (and probably games like that) turn people into addicts who live in their bedroom or living room and don't talk to people, becoming "hermetically sealed"..... This is the last time we need more of this BS! You know why?
Whether Nick Clegg knows it or not, he is helping to perpetuate the stereotype that all gamers are sociopaths. Sociopaths that only play violent games, aren't social, don't talk to anyone, and just play all day, isolated from others. Stuff like this re enforces the nonsense that gamers are sociopaths, cretins, low lifes, etc. I know most gamers are NOT sociopaths. The ones that do do not make a majority. Saying all gamers live in their bedroom reminds people of Adam Lanza, who was reported by the Tabloids to have lived in his basement. To their mind now, Clegg is making gamers look like criminals. It's pathetic and it has to stop. I play only 2 hours of Video games per day, I am a social person. I don't need nonsense like this to be spread. It's bad for all of us... The more people stereotype us as living in isolation, or any stereotype really, the worse it will get..
What really gets me is how Nick Clegg decides to complain about how he can't limit gamers gaming type through any law or edict near the bottom. Because people like him love to regulate us as much s possible, but since the unfortunate fact that his Country is a Free Country, he unfortunately cannot do that. Anyone like this should not be in office. Who elected him? People who don't like violent games? It makes me wonder. Do we really have world leaders complaining about Freedoms that get in the way of controlling people because they view those people all as sociopaths and school shooters?

The Anti-gamers are using fake names to spread their BS Nonsense online...
While reading gamepolitics.com, I came across the below article, talking about how the Whitehouse is not considering attacking the industry (thankfully) for the Navy Yard Shooting. So I started reading the comments, and came across one commenter who kept on spewing nonsense about violent games over and over again, and after reading his crap again I realized something. He is really not who he appears to be, in fact he is actually an anti-gaming crusader using a fake name. I won't reveal his probable real identity but gamers who know who he sounds like know how that person behaves. Here are a few quotes from him:
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/congress-video-game-violence-navy-yard-97131.html#ixzz2fZo0xKpg
"Sorry to bust your bubble but your wrong. In Paducah Kentucky, the 14 year old shooter had never fired a gun before his murder spree, except for once the day before. He played violent video games where it showed him how to aim a gun. He shot his victims with such accuracy that the only explanation is the video games taught him how to shoot so well. Look it up for your self. Not all kids that play these games end up killers, but all these killers played these violent games!"
This is one of the biggest BS claims going out there right now. That Micheal Carneal learned how to aim just from Playing Doom. There are tons of problems with this. First of all, doom at the time lacked vertical aiming. A random number generator determined how high your bullet went. You have no control over how high you shoot at all. Explain how carneal hit 3 of his targets in the head then? He couldn't have. He fired 8 individual shots with semiautomatic pistols that don't fire multiple rounds when you hold the trigger down, and hit 8 kids in the head or chest. Doom trains you to hold down the mouse button down, your gun in the game will fire multiple times. All of the guns do. Unlike anything but full auto guns in real life. After killing all the enemies in the current room you let go and rinse and repeat in the next room, etc. If Carneal trained on Doom, he would fire one round while holding down the real guns trigger and no more shots would fire, and would not be able to hit all 8 targets at all.
Another thing is that this poster claims is that lots of mass shooters played violent games. Only 4 have. Harris/Klebold, The Norway Killer, and the Navy Yard shooter. 1 News paper tried to claim Cho (V-Tech Killer) played Half-life (meaning counterstrike I think), but the neighbors of Cho said they never saw him obsess over "violent" games. Adam lanza was quoted by some plumber in a Tabloid to have played call of duty because "people who play call of duty know about realistic models of tanks and weapons from ww1-ww2" because of the posters showing Weapons and Tanks From WW1-WW2. No other proof given. To me that's proof he Did NOT played COD. James Holmes played Some RPG's (oblivion, etc), all Sword fighting games, combat wise. He killed people, with a gun. That doesn't work. The norway shooter said he used COD to train for the massacre. That's it. One other shooter said he played "Guitar Hero". Is that the morons definition of a "violent game" now? I guess it's because of the Heavy Metal and it's fake Satanic cult who molests kids who happen to be part of every Metal band and metal Fan worldwide... Go Figure.

"Look up the work by Col Dave Grossman. He trains our military on how to kill people. He knows what he is talking about.
"Grossman argues that the techniques used by armies to train soldiers to kill are mirrored in certain types of video games. The conclusion he draws is that playing violent video games, particularly light gun shooters of the first-person shooter-variety
(where the player holds a weapon-like game controller), train children
in the use of weapons and, more importantly, harden them emotionally to
the task of murder by simulating the killing of hundreds or thousands of
opponents in a single typical video game. Grossman uses blunt language
that draws the ire of gamers—during the heights of video game controversy,
he was interviewed on the content of his books, and repeatedly used the
term "murder simulator" to describe first-person shooter games."
As for your assertion that this has been tested... nice try. You are wrong!"
Col Grossman was a shrink from the Military. He had NOTHING to do with training people to kill. Boot Camp does. The whole idea that violent games are used to break down the inhibition to kill is debunked by this blog, not written by some "gamer druggie", but a person who actually served in the military. I quote his lengthy debunking below:
"Let me give you some background. I am coming out of a four-year stint in the United States Marine Corps. I spent six months in Afghanistan and two months in Iraq (crossing the Line of Departure a mere 72 hours after the word was given by the President).
While not in a combat unit, every Marine's primary job is basic rifleman. We are all considered trained enough to put steel on target when the lawful order is given.
Video games are poor training tools. For anything, really. I think the last games I learned from were Sticky Bear Math and Number Munchers.
I'm not aware of any military unit that uses video games to break down the inhibition to kill.
In fact, this breakdown really only occurs in one place: Boot camp.
Boot camp doesn't even specifically concentrate on the inhibition to kill. Rather, they follow the CIA training manual for brainwashing almost point by point, in order to instill in recruits 'instant and willing obedience to lawful orders' - that is what they do. The assumption, of course, is that these orders may be to kill; But they could be to drag a wounded child to safety, or set up a bunker in 100 degree weather, or pull night watch after being up for a 36-hour convoy.
If you think America's Army is anything but a half-decent game and a lame recruitment tool, you've never run an obstacle course, or been 'quarterdecked' by a DI.
If you think Halo can help you learn how to shoot, you've never tried to get ten in the black from 500 yards with the piece-of-shit M16A2, with your elbows getting ground by sand trapped in your cammies and the sun causing sweat on your forehead which drips into your eyes."
One more quote by the anti-gaming activist pretending to be a politico.com poster with a fake name:
"Trust me I hunt, competitive target shoot and have a concealed pistol permit my self. Just look at my profile pic. It's of the late great Col. Carlos Hathcock. I also play these same video games. I never blamed guns as the problem and never said all people that play these games are going to be killers. What I am saying is when you add these games without parental supervision, mentally unstable kids, etc... your going to get a few killers in the outcome."
The fact that the same anti-gaming activist has called gamers "Junior" like this guy (read the comments he has said), and has berated gamers in emails, just like this person proves they are the same person. They are virtually Identical. There is no way this guy plays violent games. If he did, he would know the BS he spreads is NOT TRUE...
I have suspected for years that anti-gaming activists have been spreading nonsense like the Hack Psychologists claims under fake names, after I read several posts by odd people quoting his claim. Now I know the truth.... It IS happening. It's quite disturbing. Why the hell groups like this allow people like this do do this kind of crap is beyond me.

SO.... FAUX NEWS want to track how much video games we buy and play?? WTF!!!!
In the wake of the newest mass shooting on a (surprise surprise!!!) Navy base, everyone is talking about their made up link between the shooter and "uber violent video games" and how his friend says he was an "obsessed gamer" (more on that later). This has caused FAUX news to attack violent games Again! A conservative moron named Elizabeth Hasselback is spewing nonsense about how there is a link between the 20-34 demographic and "video game violence" and how "we" (USA) needs to track video game purchases and, because this is NOT a gun control issue, It's a "violent gamer control issue"! Like every single one of us is a violent psychopath in the making, not the mere 0.0% percent of gamers that are violent psychopaths, statistically (more on that later).
But you talk about this guy’s background, as we look into it," Kilmeade continued. "He’s got a friend, who said, 'Yeah, he had an obsession with video games, shooting video games. In fact, he would come over and he would be playing so long — these video games, these shooting games — we’d have to give him dinner, we’d have to feed him while he continued to stay on them.'"
"Are more people susceptible to playing video games?" Hasselbeck continued. "Is there a link between a certain age group or [demographic] in 20- to 34-year-old men, perhaps, that are playing these video games and their violent actions?"
OUR VIOLENT ACTIONS?! WTF! Last time I checked, only 0.0% of gamers are even violent! Out of 311,000,000 gamers worldwide in 2011, only 2 killed people! Only 9 out of however billions who played since 1997 have killed people. It would take1.6 MILLION shootings per year for 10% of gamers to be violent!!! Meanwhile a gigantic 41% of smokers get lung cancer. Hardly a strong link..
"What about frequency testing?" she added. "How often has this game been played? I’m not one to get in there and say, monitor everything, but if this, indeed, is a strong link, right, to mass killings then why aren’t we looking at frequency of purchases per person? And also, how often they’re playing and maybe they time out after a certain hour."
So she wants people to be MONITORED for playing violent games. Not just any people. 20-23 year old men, like non-20-24 year old women aren't capable of mass killing either.. Sexist asshole! You might say that monitoring people who play games is impossible, but with Malicious software anything is possible. If indeed someone in the senate supports such a plan to monitor 20-34 MALE gamers with spyware, it's not good for us. What's really scary is this quote Hasselback said. "And maybe they time out after awhile". What is timing out? It is left to interpretation. The gamer or the game. If it is the game, does this mean she is trying to get people to remotely hack PC's/consoles to shut them down after a while? If so, that's the most disgusting thing I have heard. Just because YOU THINK THERE IS A NONEXISTANT LINK DOES'NT MEAN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL ME WHEN I GAME AND HOW LONG I CAN GAME FOR!!!'
Rant mod aside, I find it disgusting that Fox news is acting like gamer haters again after several untrusted Media outlets have said the latest shooter was an obsessed gamer. At least once the media has lied about a claim like this. During the V-TECH shooting aftermath, one newspaper printed a quote from an anti-gaming mogul that was more than likely fake claiming Cho played Half-life. I just don't trust media outlets to NOT LIE about BS like this to use it against the industry. If the latest shooter was a gamer, don't print some fucking BS statement from "one of his friends" when "his friend" is just made up. IF there is a REAL LINK to violent games, PROVIDE PROOF! Don't just make up BS!!! It's disgusting, and so is this idiocy from Fox News, even more disgusting if they suggest violent games should "time off" after a while....

I am doing a weekly youtube radio show every week, on topics of video game controversy...
For today and the next 2 days, I am alone in my house, which is not something that usually happens. So I decided to write some new music, and do a lot of videos in a format of a youtube video radio show, talking about debunking nonsense about violent games, talking about any and all video game legislation, media spread nonsense, and any similar topics. It will air on youtube every weekend, on Sunday or the Next Monday (after being recorded the previous night). I will occasionally go into off topic topics here and there, but for the most part, it will be video game controversy related...

Massachussets Apparently trying to Ban Violent Games, to adults as well.....
So after going to gamepolitics.com last night, I looked in the
legislation tab to see if any state had drafted Anti-Violent Game
Legislation. Surprisingly, My own state of Massachusetts, was among
those states, that drafted draconian anti-video game bills within the
last 6 years. Back in 2007, HB 1423 was drafted, it would apparently
"restrict violent games to minors", but that's not all... No No...
That's not all..
The Bill is so ridiculously draconian that is scares me just as much as the Bill that California Drafted that got Defeated for Unconstitutionality in Brown VS EMA. Like that bill, this one uses the greatly subjective obscenity clause to determine what games would be restricted.... Basically, if the game is offensive to the public, and the judges of the content find it lacks scientific, educational, or literary value, it would be restricted. The problem is if a game is so offensive that it offends the Judges (it seems any violent game with gore would do this, hell even guns in a game offended a co-worker years ago, Doom none the less), they would be so offended that they would say it lacks those values anyway, and therefore would use it against the game and then restrict it to minors.
The real issue is not this but the fact that it uses the restrict word in the wrong way, or in an unclear way. Restrict means to " to confine or keep within certain often specified limits or selected bounds" according to an online dictionary, so if you use this definition, the bill makes it illegal to sell games to adults now.... Even worse, the bill fails to even mention the punishments, who will judge the games, punishment (if any) for false judgement based on faked evidence or incorrect evidence or abuse of the judging process. Even if these issues are my imagination, it still uses a subjective system to determine what games are restricted and what ones aren't. How would the stores know which ones not to sell.... Like Brown VS EMA, they might end up taking all games off the shelves to prevent losses or lawsuits coming from violations of the law. So therefore this bill would create an effective ban because since stores don't know what games get restricted till to late, they then end up having to take ALL violent games off the shelves to prevent damages, especially if the bill is abused..
Text of the Bill in question for people wanting to read it In case it gets deleted later for any reason. (a lot of the stuff like this gets deleted suddenly, as of late anyway, such as the Brown vs EMA Amicus Brief, etc)

As of now the Bill is in the House Committee being stalled, but who knows for how long? This could come to bite my state and my freedom of choices in the Ass later. I am an Adult! I have the right to choose WHAT GAMES I Buy. I don't want this bill to backfire and make retailers get rid of violent games in fear like it could. And since I use online retailers mostly now, who knows how it will effect online retailers in MA, or the gaming industry here. This could be, in theory, Disastrous for gaming in my state.....
This is MY STATE we are talking about here... We don't do shit like this, uber save the children conservative nonsense here. Not till one of the hack psychologists crazy unproven theories invaded the minds of people like our Mayor, did this nonsense start, with the Banning of GTA ads on subway systems that don't have kids in them anyway (from my experience, their too dangerous for kids)... IF our Mayor ends up allowing this to pass, I will fight it tooth and nail with regular emails to ALL the Representatives and Senators in my State.... I won't let this go quietly and with out opportunity. I will start a campaign to get people to write EVERYONE in office in MA to oppose this and hopefully it will flood their Mailboxes so bad that they find it unconstitutional.
As of now, the bill is in committee, and who knows if it will be taken out for a vote anytime soon. But still I urge ALL Gamers in Massachusetts to email the Rep's about this. This is danger waiting to happen for Gaming here... Don't let this pass, gamers, spread the message, email your Rep's, send the message below to them to make them see that this is WRONG!!!
Text to email (please us this, don't write your own)
"As your constituent and as an avid Video Game fan, and also as an anti-censorship person, I oppose HB 1423 due to it's vague use of the phrase "restricting" in it's text, and other issues. I know this is an old bill, but according to gamepolitics.com, it's still being worked on, and hasn't completely died, according to them.It claims to be a bill that will restrict Sales of certain violent video games to adults, but when I didgoogle searches for similar bills in other states, only a few were restrict to adults type bills. Many were ills to restrict violent games to children... Since I oppose any form of Censorship, I immediately looked at the Bill's text, and compared it to others in other states. When looking up the definition of Restrict online, It seems this bill is actually designed to Restrict sales of violent games to adults, as in a ban of violent games to adults only. Since the bill's text is so vague, there is no part that clearly states "stores must not sell games to minors", so which way is it? Banning games from being sold to minors, or to Adults.... Based on other bills, it looks like the writer of such a bill Purposely left it out to abuse it for such a purpose, to make it illegal for stores to even sell games to adults.... Thus killing the video game industry in this state.
Other issues I have with it, are how it uses an incredibly biased Obscenity clause that states that if thegame is lacks scientific, literary, or educational value for minors, it is harmful to minors and can't besold, but since the the people who are deciding this (which it does not state), could simply use theirstandards of what offends them, they can simply say that the game offends them, so therefore it lacks those standards, and ban it to adults or children.... I feel Indecency and obscenity clauses are to vague and subjective to use as a test of what should be restricted, banned or both... It's too easy for someone else to abuse this, and IMHO, that's why the author wrote this bill to get an "effective ban" in MA passed... I just wanted to share my concerns..."

Video Game BS Youtube video Blog Series...
Recently, I have been re watching by Video Game Violence BS video's, that I did back last year in the summer to debunk nonsense spread about violent games I have heard over the year. A lot of points I brought up were unique in that Me and my blogging of them have been the only people online to discuss them. So I decided to do a post with links to these videos, in light of the scapegoating that is going on right now because of the Sandy Hook School Shooting the media is scapegoating the Industry for causing and worse... (Child Molestation? WTF!?), yes violent games have been linked to that now, seriously...
A lot of points are brought up, including debunking the following myths:
-Video games cause real life violence
-Video games are used to break down the inhibition to kill in the Military
-Video games train school shooters
-School shooters became better shooters because of Doom (WTF!)
Also a lot of fake nonsense spread about the Columbine massacre by the media are brought up and debunked such as:
- Eric Harris said "On april 20'th, Doom will become reality" on his webpage
- Eric Harris modified to train the massacre with begging students, infinite ammo/weapons, a second shooter programmed in.
A lot about EMA vs Brown is brought up about how nonsense above was used in Amicus Brief by a right wing pro-censorship, pro-family, anti-freedom group from the midwest, in an attempt to Hijack the Supreme court in the Ema Vs Brown decision with Bogus info.
Anyway, here are the videos, enjoy...
Brand New:
Video Game Violence BS II: Part 1
Sandy Hook Nonsense:
I: Adam Lanza did not play Violent Games
II: Violent Gaming Companies and the players of such games being "Child Molestors"
III: The Rediculous Missouri Tax on Buying, Playing, Using, And Storing Violent games.
Recorded last year:
Part I: Video Game Myths debunked...
Part II: Faked News Articles after Columbine and their Debunking
Part III: Panic over Video Game Ads and the "fact" that violent games are marketed to kids Debunked.
Part IV: Religious Right wing groups and their attempt to Hijack the Supreme Court during EMA vs Brown
Part V: My personal experiences with anti-violence-in games trolls and the "Tornado of Bullshit" that fuels censorship
Part VI: New Nonsense about violent games debunked from a new attack site I found...

BEHOLD! More Anti-gaming nonsense (and media Lies!!!!) From CCFC.
Lo and behold, The nonsense surrounding violent games causing violence, has not ended!!!! After the newtown shooting which EVERYONE in the media seemed to blame on violent games. Enter the newest peice of nonsense by the Campaign for a Commercial free Childhood, or what I think they are really trying to be, campaign for censoring for kids... This article written by a moron from this group on times.com spreads complete nonsense about violent games, without shame, without any recourse, shocking!!!!
So these idiots want a "dialogue" about the "effects" of violent games on kids (to them "effects" are making kids directly want to shoot up a school, nothing less... They want that result, that's why the mentioned the link as being "almost as great" as the link from smoking cigarrates to cancer. A bullshit excuse everyone uses). Lets begin the debunking of this nonsense:
"Research repeatedly demonstrates that, for children, exposure to violent video games, movies and television programs is a risk factor for becoming desensitized to violence, lack of sympathy for victims and aggressive behavior. Proponents for allowing purveyors of violent media unfettered access to children dismiss the research because it is correlational and not causal."
I went through such research in another post on wordpress and many of the studies are so flawed that it becomes doubtful that they were done for any other purpose to fraudulently find a link between violent games and aggression so the hack psychologists could use them to claim "violent games cause kids to become violent", which they repeatedly did, misinterpreting the studies. I saw evidence that the study creators purposely hid certain facts from the public, like the fact that they use Electroshock therapy to increase aggression in the violent game playing kids, only to find that the PDF that proved this "disappeared" off the internet a few days after I exposed their nonsense. Brainscan studies done by certain groups were all funded by one group, the "center" for successful parenting" who's goal is to get the medical community, the government and others "change culture" to get rid of violence in entertainment, aka ban violent games and worse, with many of these studies which are all quite fraudulent. Now the stakes are higher because morons like Nader and Boykin are saying indirectly that they lead to child molestation, or urges of paedophilia, to cause a moral panic. With such studies linking one thing (violent games) to another (aggression) and dozens of groups saying that it proves something completely different (violent games make kids violent), and then the bombshell that these studies are fraudulent and were funded by groups who want to get rid of all violence in entertainment, It's hard to even say this claim from the article is even true, it's just rhetoric designed to "change" culture. The discussion will be about banning violent games, it will come up, and so will paedophilia and child molestation as the next "crime" associated with games and gamers. We gamers are already lowlifes, morons, "gamer shitheads" , people who "should have been aborted", druggies and even school shooters in the minds of the wackjob anti-gamers out there, what's to stop them from adding child molestation, rape, and worse to the "effects" of violent games we "exhibit".
"But public health policy is often based on correlation between behavior and harm, and the correlation between media violence and aggression is almost as strong as the link between smoking cigarettes and lung cancer — and stronger than other acknowledged public health threats such as the links between not using a condom and sexually transmitted H.I.V., and early exposure to lead and lower I.Q. scores."
The claim that the "correlation" between violent games and harm (notice they said "harm" like in violence here, not aggression (like becoming angry here). is as strong as the link between smoking and cancer, is complete nonsense not even proven by a single study, it's something anti-gamers like this writer have said over and over again in articles attacking games, but not once has any one else even said it's true. The proof that the studies are all fraudulent and funded by people who want to "change" culture to get rid of violent entertainment, makes them all flawed and not trustworthy in my mind. Any negative bias in the study makes it flawed. Bias = BAD.
"Regardless of the role violent media played or didn’t play in the tragic Newtown shootings, children are harmed by frequent exposure to movies, video games, music and TV programs that glorify violence. We shouldn’t let the National Rifle Association’s smoke and mirrors, or the urgent need for gun control and effective, readily available mental health services, distract from the problem of media violence."
A little contradictory. Isn't it. this group CCFC is clearly using the tragedy to push their agenda of "stopping" media violence, and this paragraph proves it. If the the Newtown Shooting did NOT have any contributing factors from violent games, there is no way that this witch hunt over the violence in games being "examined" by more studies is even needed. But according to them they are still not sure that games caused Newtown. But do they care?
Returning to the quotes from the article on the New York times:
"We need to stop allowing children to be targets for marketing violent media,"
"Violent Media" targets kids? A peice on my other blog debunking 5 big anti-violent games myths completely debunks this claim, which is claim 4 in the peice. Quoting my explaination of how this is a myth:
"This myth is less drastic than the first one, but is still constantly spread around. The truth is this one has been used in many different ways, all claiming violent games are marketed to kids for different reasons. There isn’t one common reason why this is true… But My article on this (here) basically says that the ESRB ratings are often misconstrued as GOVT enforced by people who do the same thing with MPAA ratings.. They are both voluntary ratings and if a store doesn’t enforce them they don’t get in Legal trouble, unlike what the common belief is. So when you get a biased study like the PTC ‘secret shopper survey’ that says stores sell M rated games to kids 80% of the time, you get people thinking that the industry is marketing games to kids.

The truth is that a recent FTC study says ESRB ratings are even better than MPAA ratings and enforcement in stores… but that doesn’t really disprove the myth…. What does, however is the target demographic of the industry is 18-35 year olds, according to this page. I have heard this on many articles in gaming sites, so I trust it…. If it were 5-9 year olds like all the anti-gamers keep saying then I wouldn’t even try to debunk this… But I have never heard any kind of evidence to support the biased claim that violent games are marketed to kids that isn’t something ridiculous like “violent game ads in our subway”, or “kids in a game store that sells violent games that could be seen by a kid”, or recently someone on a forum said this great claim “Look at all the Lego games, proof violent games are marketed to kids” after saying that since there were violent game ads ‘everywhere’ the claim must be true. Basically it’s a lie."
Complete idiocy and fearmongering and fake evidence/media lie spreading won't help to fix the issues that caused Newtown. In fact no one has even done any actual medical testing to see what issues Adam Lanza even had (mental illnesses ,etc). It's all scapegoating and nonsense spreading.... It's sick and it needs to stop. The country does NOT need to have an Open Discussion on how violent games "Corrupt" kids by making them violent or want to rape babies. We DONT need more scapegoating!

My New video game Onslaught, finally released...
I was originally going to wait till October 31'st on midnight to release onslaught... But a serious issue has come up. We are getting a tropical storm around that time where I live... So I have to get the release out of the way now... Because I will not be on my PC to do it then.... It will be off and unplugged... Hopefully the Storm doesn't damage too much stuff..... So here we go... I spent the whole night last night play testing most of the maps minus the secret maps... And it's complete...
The game, which is called Onslaught : the cult within, is based on an old idea for a FPS game me and a friend had back in 1995. We thought of the whole story, who the villains were, what you were as a player back then... You played as a cybernetic mercenary named "asshole", who happens to listen to extreme metal. You get hired by a mercenary guild to stop a mad cult who is bombing all the cities in the world in an insane attempt to bring on the apocalypse. Since they control the secret military programs of every country they can actually do this... They also have access to nukes and worse. In 2078 they nuke Paris and Washington DC... They then use secret experiments gone wrong, horrible abominations of nature, to wipe out the survivors. Then by using technology gotten from tortured aliens they are able to clean up the radiation and set up a base in the ruins of DC. The group you work for is fighting this CSC cult and is losing. You are hired to do missions for them to stop this cult, from stopping more experiments from being created to stopping future nuking plots by the cult... As a cybernetic mercenary you can do things that most people cannot do, such as put a impenetrable forcefield around you, regenerate health, etc. A trailer was made for youtube recently, which you can view here:
The game is an old school/tactical hybrid FPS game with a non linear level system and many other features. You choose what missions you want to do with a mission computer in your HQ which is always the first map you start. The HQ has no enemies in it, and you can use a switch to chose missions and then another to start the mission you chose.... You can also buy items and weapons with money you earn in each mission, 5 minutes in, based on how many kills you get... In each mission you face enemy counts from 150 to around 1000. It's a lot like serious sam. But in difficulty and realism terms it's more like STALKER. You will die very quickly if you don't take cover and remember to heal yourself often with medical kits and other methods, such as cybernetic upgrades and "eating gibs" to heal yourself.
As a cyborg, you also get cyborg powers you can use at any time. You have 5 powers, activatable with the f1-f5 keys. F1 cloaks you. F2 heals you to a certain degree. F3 gives you nightvision mode which makes cloaked mutants (very common and annoying) visible. F4 puts a forcefield around you for at least 10 seconds making you invincible. F5 is called metal rage and by default makes you fire your guns twice as fast for 20 seconds or so. All of these powers can be upgrade by buy able upgrades available at the HQ levels. Make sure to use these wisely, because they are needed to survive even basic levels on higher skill settings.
In the HQ map the "exit door" on the right in the second room leads to the mission computer room. The switch (grey notched texture) on the column selects the mission you want to do next. Press it again to select the next one. It will keep selecting the next one till you get to the end... The other switch warps you to the mission you selected.... If you go back to the previous room outside the mission control room, and go the other way away from the entrance of the level, you will see an open door on the right hand side of the next room. This room leads to the item store.. There are 2 more switches here... The left switch cycles through items to buy and prints the cost of the current selected one also. The right switch buys the correct item but only if you have enough credits to do so...
Level design wise, I ended up using a random map generator that makes great urban themed maps to make all the levels. I really don't care if idiots say this is bad.... Blah blah blah... I don't even care... It works for me... But really I never even cared if the maps were hand crafted or not... I did end up editing them quite heavily afterwards, by adding dynamic lighting, enemy placement changes, etc...
The textures were taken from many sources, mostly free texture download sites and a HL1 texture pack called the Photorealistic texture pack... They were all enhanced with a free Painting program, using a bump mapping filter, since Gzdoom cannot do bump mapping.
The enemy, item and weapon graphics came from custom enemies that came from realm667.com. This is a repository for items, weapons, and enemies made for zdoom that are brand new.. Many of them used or use sounds from other games... I tried to remove as many as possible by replacing the sounds with sounds from Freedoom (what this is based on), and custom recorded horror styled screams, etc... But I may have missed a few.... It's not my fault really, many custom enemies use sounds and graphics from other games... I didn't make them.. so Don't blame me. I got most of the skyboxes from a Jdoom skybox pack, and some other sources, a skybox pack made for Gzdoom. Something like that, I forget where...
The game is quite scary at times... Mutant enemies (the CSC experiments mentioned above) are very scary in nature and make loud screaming noises often. At least one has the ability to scare you shitless. There are also randomly played ambient sounds that sound like a monster but are not, to freak you out... and randomly occurring night zones, when the whole level will go dark to freak you out for 20 seconds, accompanied by a screaming noise and a monster teleported near or behind you. The game also has a scripted day/night cycle as well, using appropriate skyboxes, and light coloring effects. The game's time scale is increased so each day goes by in 20 minutes, so it's more obvious in the smaller levels....
Anyway... The actual game has been released and tested quite a bit.... It's available here. Download the zip file and unzip all files to a new folder, C:\ons or something like that. Then run gzdoom.exe in that folder to play... Doom itself is not required to play... It is totally standalone, but uses a free copy of freedoom as an IWAD, because I don't know how to make an IWAD myself to make this standalone any other way. Freedoom is a completely free and non-id software based resource set and IWAD that allows people to play Doom levels that are custom without actually owning doom itself. All of the content in it is new, So I thought it was the perfect base IWAD to include in this, because I cannot be sued for simply distributing it, unlike a copy of the doom2.wad that comes with Doom 2. The game requires at least a system with these system requirements:
Pentium 4 1.8 GHZ, 1 GB Ram, Ati-Radeon 8500 or Nvidia Geforce 4 TI or higher, decent soundcard, and 450 MB of free disk space, Windows as an operating system.
I tested it on my system which has these specs:
Pentium Dualcore 3.0 GHZ, 2 GB ram, Nvidia Geforce GT 520, soundblaster live external USB soundcard, Windows XP.
Make sure to configure your controls with the options menu > configure controls options before playing. I recommend new players to play now higher than "badass" (medium) due to the difficulty.
Neccisary but pointless Disclaimer : This game has lots of bad language, gore, bathroom humor, and other "offensive" content... Just a friendly warning... This is for mature gamers only... Not something that should be exposed to young kids..
